      KZN is designed with your privacy in mind. We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide and improve the app experience.
    

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect:

Email address — used for account identification and login.
Password — securely hashed using bcrypt; we never store or see your plain-text password.

When you use the app, we store:

Workout data — exercise names, sets, reps, weights, dates, and durations you log.
Personal records and analytics — computed from your workout data to provide insights and track progress.

2. Guest Mode

You can use KZN without creating an account. In guest mode, all workout data is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. No data is transmitted to our servers. If you later create an account, you have the option to import your local data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide and maintain the KZN service, including cloud sync of your workout data.
Authenticate your identity and secure your account.
Calculate personal records, analytics, and milestone badges.
Improve app performance and fix bugs.

We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or share it with anyone outside of what is necessary to operate the service.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on secure infrastructure. We use industry-standard security measures including:

Passwords hashed with bcrypt.
JWT-based authentication with tokens that expire after 30 days.
HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
Rate limiting on authentication endpoints to prevent abuse.

5. Data Retention

Your workout data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at the email below.

6. Third-Party Services

KZN does not integrate with third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not embed third-party SDKs that collect your personal information.

7. Children's Privacy

KZN is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your account and data.
Export your workout data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
